Meet Our Caring Practitioners
Hampton Smiles, formerly Sparkle Dental Care Hampton, has been servicing the Bayside area for over 40 years. Originally opened by Dr Ross Green, the dental surgery started on Bay Street in Brighton in 1980. In 2013, Dr. Kenny Lee and Dr. Kai Xu took over their Bayside practice turning it into Sparkle Dental Care Hampton. In its third iteration, Hampton Smiles continues to provide quality dental care for our patients and families.
Dr. Nathan Phung
Dentist

Nathan graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2016. He has worked in both public and private practices in Bentleigh and Essendon. He is heavily involved with the Australian Dental Association, serving on multiple committees, most recently being the chairman of the Continuing Professional Development committee.
Nathan has attended hundreds of hours of CPD courses ensuring he is well versed with all aspects of dentistry; including multiple ADA conventions, hands-on courses in Surgical and Restorative Dentistry and completing the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and University of Melbourne Surgical and Restorative implants course. Nathan prides himself on providing quality patient-centred conservative dentistry.
Nathan has enjoys connecting with the community with local kindergarten visits as well as helping out at the Pregnancy and Babies Expo. He has assisted the Royal Flying Doctors Service providing treatment to children and the elderly in aged care facilities. Nathan was also awarded the Colgate Travel award for his research into the links between gum disease and pregnancy.
Outside of dentistry, Nathan has travelled extensively and is keen to continue exploring the world. He is also an avid gardener, enjoys spending time outdoors, as well staying fit and healthy in the gym. His workouts help him burn off more calories to be able to enjoy Melbourne’s diverse food scene.
Denise Galuoppo
Hygienist

Denise grew up in Leo, Indiana and completed her Dental Hygienist degree in 1988 at the University of Indiana. Attracted by the unique wildlife, Denise moved to Australia in 1991 to spend one year travelling. Over 30 years later she still loves to travel and still sounds American. Professionally during those years Denise has gone on to complete Graduate Courses in Advanced Dental Hygiene Technique at Pankey Institute (USA) as well as Innovation and Enterprise with Swinburne University.
Denise has held many positions in the Oral Health Association of Australia (previously known as Dental Hygiene Association) including President of the Association and chair of the Continuing Education Committee. She has held research and teaching positions with the University of Melbourne and has assisted many dentist/dental hygienist teams integrate a successful preventative periodontal program into their private dental practice.
Denise stays active within the dental associations and currently is a listed member of the Professional Standard Review Panel of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Denise has been a valued part of this practice since 2009.
